As a premier event on the international defence and aviation calendar Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) is the largest exhibition of its kind in Africa, showcasing the full spectrum of leading defence related technologies.

It was in Cape Town during the AAD 2008 that the Maverick was unveiled to much acclaim. The internal security armoured vehicle was the latest edition of Paramount Group’s Nemo land forces systems which also include the Matador and Marauder vehicles.

Paramount Group is a South African company and has worked closely with South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. The iconic V-shaped hulls which are an important feature of the highly advanced mine-protected vehicles are acknowledged as a South African innovation. Paramount is a major shareholder in Aerosud, South Africa’s leading aeronautical engineering business, which is a risk-sharing partner in the Airbus A400 programme and also manufactures parts and assemblies for world-leading aviation companies e.g. Boeing and others.

Paramount looks forward to returning to the AAD this year where the company hopes to build on the success of previous exhibitions which attract some of the industry’s largest players and a host of international delegations.
